Have you ever checked out the Smashing Pumpkins Fan Collaborative (also known more simply as SPFC) list of covers? Currently over 400 tracks are reported to have been covered in full or just teased by The Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, Corgan solo, etc.
You might be asking yourself, what is the most often played cover? It is “Rock On” by Essex. A track normally played during the Machina era. SPFC reports it has been played over 112 times in full along with 2 teases. Followed by “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” which was played/teased 79 known times. Coming in third is “Space Oddity” (77 times), and in 4th place “Jesus, I” (76 times).
The best known cover that the Smashing Pumpkins did is the recording of Stevie Nicks classic track, “Landslide”, which is the 15th most common cover to be played live by the Pumpkins, coming in at 26 times.
