Flashback Friday: The Smashing Pumpkins return.

The Smashing Pumpkins would return to the stage in May 2007,  with lead singer and guitarist Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.  Former guitar player James Iha told Rolling Stone he was not going to be part of the Smashing Pumpkins and not many expect former bass player D’arcy to part of the band after she quit in 2000. The next day it was rumored that James and D’arcy would be replaced with Jeff Schroeder and Ginger Reyes respectively.

On May 22nd 2007 the Smashing Pumpkins took the stage with the rumored musicians along with keyboardist Lisa Harriton. The band played a 29 song set lasting almost 3 hours long. The show was professionally filmed but there has yet to be a release of this footage. The Smashing Pumpkins official YouTube page did put out a couple of videos from the show including Zero, Tonight, Tonight, Doomsday Clock as well as some montage footage of that day played to the Pumpkins new single Tarantula.

Below is some interesting behind the scene footage from that day.
