Flashback Friday: The Everlasting Gaze

Originally demoed under the track name “Disco King” Billy had said in a Machina interview disc that the song started as a disco song and it originally had to do with mocking people on the dancing floor. The song went through 6 or 7 incarnations but always kept the main riff.

The song is the first track and first music video for the album Machina. The music video was directed by Jonas Åkerlund and was a sudden last second change from the original plan of releasing Stand Inside Your Love as the first single.  Billy said that they wanted to make the most intense performance video. While shooting the video Billy chose to toss his guitar up into light fixture expecting it cause the lights exploded but instead the fixture comes falling down.
