Billy Corgan & Geddy Lee talk with MusicRadar.com (part 1)

In this new two part interview on MusicRadar the two both talk about the album format. When asked if the EP is a viable alternative Geddy agreed with Billy comment of “There’s just something psychological about the idea of an album that arouses the public interest.” Billy went on to say “…the public’s interest in albums has diminished, it sort of rewards those people who can come up with the one song…. So if you come up with this one song, people think, Oh, this artist is so great!”

When talking about singles Billy said “we didn’t talk about singles at all on this record (Oceania). We didn’t even release a single, we haven’t even worked a single, and songs are now being picked off the album and being played by the alternative radio stations because they’re strong. ”
